Ten questions to ask before you book a hoarding

Ten questions to ask before you book a hoarding

Outdoor is a big, visible commitment, so a few good questions up front save a lot of regret later. Whether you are booking one board or twenty, run through this short checklist with your media partner before you sign off. Clear answers are a good sign. Vague ones are a reason to pause.

Location and audience

  • Exactly where is the site? Ask for a precise address or coordinates, not just an area name.
  • Who passes it, and in what mindset? Commuters, shoppers and families behave very differently.
  • How busy is the road, and how fast does traffic move? Slower traffic means more dwell time on your message.

The site itself

  • What is the size and format, and is it lit at night?
  • Is the structure well maintained and properly licensed?
  • Which direction does it face, and does that match the traffic you want to reach?

The commercials

  • Can you see the rental, printing and mounting costs separately?
  • What are the exact start date and duration?

After it goes live

  • What proof of display will you get, and when?
  • Who do you contact if something is wrong during the run?
If a partner answers all ten clearly and without fuss, you are in good hands. Our listings are built to answer most of these before you even ask, with location, format, lighting, audience and honest estimates on every site.

The takeaway

You do not need to be an outdoor expert to buy well. You need to ask the right questions and expect straight answers. This checklist keeps the conversation honest and your budget pointed at sites that will actually work.
