How to plan outdoor media for a financial service
A financial service asks people to trust a promise they cannot fully assess from a hoarding. Outdoor should make the brand and need familiar, then give people a safe route to complete the decision where the terms can be explained.
Narrow the brief before choosing sites
A savings account, home loan, business loan, insurance product and payment app solve different problems. Choose one product, one audience and one useful action. A business banking message may fit commercial corridors. A local branch campaign may need residential and market routes inside its service catchment.
Map where the audience is likely to notice the message and where they can act. A site near a branch can support visits. A commuter route can build familiarity for a digital service. Neither placement proves that every passerby is eligible or interested.
Plan the route by customer need
- Use broad route sites when recognition and trust are the main jobs.
- Use local clusters when the campaign supports a branch or service area.
- Use formats with dwell time only when an explanation or code is genuinely needed.
- Keep one approved action consistent across the sites and landing page.
Check language as well as geography. Plain Hindi or bilingual copy may be more useful on some local routes, but it still needs the same legal and product approval as the main version.
Build compliance into the artwork schedule
Send the headline, visual, rates, eligibility language, mandatory wording and action to the institution's compliance team before production. Keep a dated approval for each version. Financial rules differ by product and regulated entity, so the article cannot replace current legal and compliance review.
Measure qualified action
Track branded search, verified calls, branch visits, started applications and completed applications where the institution can do so lawfully. A large response count is not useful if the product is wrong for those people. Compare the campaign period with a normal baseline and note rate changes, sales activity and other media.
Prepare the plan with the outdoor brief guide, keep the action readable with the logo and call to action guide, and set measurement with the outdoor return framework.
