Adapting one creative across OOH formats without breaking it

Adapting one creative across OOH formats without breaking it

When you plan a multi format campaign, one campaign idea can travel across formats, but one artwork file usually cannot. Your roadside board, lift panel and LED loop have different reading distance, shape and time available.

Make a master system, not a master file

Define the non negotiables: the core message, visual focal point, brand colour, logo treatment and action. Then create deliberate versions for each format. The idea should feel related even when the crop and layout change.

Adapt to the viewing condition

  • Roadside: one visual, few words and large brand recognition.
  • Transit waiting areas: allow a little more information and a QR code if it is safe.
  • LED: write for short sequences, with a readable first and final frame.
  • Lift and indoor panels: use proximity for detail, but keep the main idea strong.

Approve site specific mockups

Mock the final design onto each real site before production. This catches a logo placed behind a tree line, an unreadable crop and type that is too small at actual scale. The mockup is a delivery tool, not a cosmetic presentation.

For the first creative review, use the seven second test.
